Bailey (formerly named Mandy), a one-year-old Chihuahua, came into the BC SPCA Victoria Branch during late February, 2012. She was surrendered by her guardian who stated they couldn’t afford to care for her any longer.
Thankfully, Bailey found a loving home with Sandy, who kindly shared updates and photos of Bailey’s happy ending:
Just wanted to let you know that Bailey is doing really well! She has gained a pound - which is a big deal for a Chihuahua! She was so tiny when we got her but she is feisty and full of energy now.
She gets along well with Gloria, our older Dachshunds, as you can see from the pictures. We have had her just about 5 weeks now and there are hundreds of pictures of her now in existence.
It was clear that there was much love for her at the SPCA as she had to have many hugs and kisses from the staff before we got to take her home. We feel very lucky to have the opportunity to be her forever home.
There have been few challenges as she is smart, clean and was already housetrained. She is truly a delight, and what a personality. We love her to bits!
Bailey loves to go for a car ride and when she hears the jingle of my keys she is at the door in a flash. From her bed to the door in .001 seconds!
She likes to hunt bugs at night when we are doing the late night pee. And she is a snuggle bug to be sure.
I had a Chihuahua and a chi-cross as a kid and I loved them so much. To have this little sweetie now is reminding me of cherished memories of my childhood... She is just the sweetest thing and we love her dearly!
Victoria SPCA staff are ecstatic to hear how wonderfully Bailey is doing and they are thankful for people like Sandy, who continually open their hearts and homes to shelter animals.
