Nick, a young Bouvier Des Flandres, was surrendered to the Victoria Branch of the BC SPCA on April 24, 2010. Nick's former owner struggled with allergies and decided to give up the puppy rather than keep him isolated from the family, locked away in a basement.
With his energetic and active personality, Nick soon became a staff and volunteer favorite. Only a few months later, he was adopted by a loving new family on August 23, 2010. They helped Nick write to us to provide an update on his progress.
Thank you to all of you who cared for me in the last few months. Since I moved in with my forever family, I have been on my very best behavior and I think they are impressed with how smart I am.
I am now ready for my afternoon nap after my second walk of the day and a visit to the vet where I was only a little scared, at least I didn't have my temperature taken!!! Some dignity left.
My Dad is slowly introducing some training. I did test my Mum on the leash but now she seems to have the hang of it and I don't think I am the boss after all.
She does have a strange habit of following me around after I have had a drink with a mop in her hand, and thankfully she doesn't seem to mind me slurping all over her pants. I have enclosed some pictures of me just so you know how happy I am and how quickly I have settled. Anyway I will keep in touch and come to visit in a few weeks. Love, Nick
Thanks for the update Nick, and congratulations to you and your family for finding each other.
