Fun events for youth & family

Join us this December for three fun events:

December 12: Youth Event: "Craft Club"

December 13:   Family Event: "Small Animal Adoption & Care Information Session"

December 20-21: Youth Workshop: "A Home for the Holidays"

Youth Event: "Craft Club"
- Burnside Community Campus

Love animals and arts and crafts? Then come join us at the Burnside Community Campus on December 12 between 7:00 and 8:15 pm at our BC SPCA Craft Club! Make some creative crafts to help the animals just in time for the holiday season! Kids of all ages are welcome!

At this Craft Club you will be able to:

  • Bring comfort to the lives of animals living in our shelters by making them special crafts to brighten up their holiday season (spread the joy and bring some to your furry friends at home too!);

  • Create some crafty cat toys for the cats at the BC SPCA or for your special feline friend at home;

  • Make some festive kennel decorations and help shine the spotlight on animals looking for their forever homes;

Family Event: "Small Animal Adoption & Care Information Session"
Tuesday, December 13, 2011 - BC SPCA Victoria Branch

If you are interested in adopting a small animal other than a cat or dog, but are not quite sure which one would be the best fit for your family, then come to our information session on Tuesday, December 13th from 7:00 to 8:15 pm at the BC SPCA Victoria Branch. Learn all about the fabulous little critters we keep as pets. This special after hours information session is for families wishing to adopt or gain a better understanding of how to care for a small pet they have now.

At this information session you will be able to:

  • Learn about adoption and proper pet care of small animals like rabbits, chinchillas, birds, hamsters, rats and guinea pigs;
  • Tour the small animal room at the BC SPCA Victoria Branch.

Youth Workshop: "A Home for the Holidays" (Victoria)
Tuesday, December 20-21, 2011 - Burnside Community Campus

Are you between the ages of 7 and 12 and looking for a fun way to learn about animals and meet other animal lovers this holiday season? Look no further! Come join us at the Burnside Community College for one or two days this December 20-21 and become the expert in your family on how to keep animals safe and cozy during this chilly time of year.

At this workshop you will be able to:

  • Take a your through the BC SPCA Victoria Branch and meet some of our furry residents looking for their forever homes;
  • Learn how to keep pets and wildlife safe from holiday hazards this frosty time of year;
  • Get in touch with your artistic side and help our animals find their forever loving homes by creating adoption posters and decorations for the shelter;
  • Bring comfort to the lives of animals living in our shelters by making them treats and toys to brighten up their holiday season (spread the joy and bring some to your furry friends at home too!);
  • Get ready for the New Year by creating a New Year’s Resolution bookmark; and
  • Learn about all kinds of animals big and small, short and tall, and meet other kids who love animals as much as you do!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization funded primarily by public donations.
