The BC SPCA provides care and protection to 34,000 animals each year.
Any help that you can give us in publishing the following public service announcements would be deeply appreciated. We seek to provide the best welfare for each animal in our care. The public can help by adopting animals rather than purchasing them from pet stores, spaying and neutering their dogs, cats, and rabbits, and volunteering with us. We need the help of the media in every community to ensure that homeless animals in BC find a perfect match for a forever home.
If you would like more information or can support our efforts in other ways, please contact Lorie Chortyk, General Manager, Community Relations at (604) 647-1316, 1-800-665-1868, or (604) 830-7179 (cell).

Dogs in Pick-up Trucks
Tragically, every year in BC countless dogs suffer and die after being thrown from the back of pickup trucks. Consequently, your pet should never ride unrestrained in the back or body of any vehicle.

Pet Overpopulation - Cats & Kittens
"A single unspayed cat can produce 470,000 offspring in just seven years. Sadly, most of them end up abandoned at BC SPCA shelters or condemned to a grim life on the streets. Be responsible - don't litter."
Tethered Dogs
"No walks, no play, no friends. It's no way to treat a dog. Get a dog for the right reasons - to be part of the family! He'll love you for it."
More information on this issue is available in our Campaigns & Issues section.
