The BC SPCA's branches, shelters and community animal centres across the province are competing in the second annual Great BC SPCA Adoption Challenge to find new, loving homes for as many animals as possible between May 1 and 31.
During last year's inaugural adoption challenge, the society adopted 1,659 animals provincewide and is aiming for a 10 per cent increase over that figure this year. The theme of the month-long event is "Fetch a Friend."
The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization funded primarily by public donations. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and to promote the welfare of animals through a wide range of services, including cruelty investigations, emergency rescue and treatment, sheltering and adoption of homeless and abused animals, humane education, advocacy, farm animal welfare, spay/neuter programs, and wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.
