THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

 January 5, 2017

The BC SPCA is among the top 20 charities in MoneySense magazine’s 2016 survey that rates 100 Canadian charities for overall efficiency, transparency and donor stewardship.

The magazine created Canada’s first charity rating system to determine which charities score highest in categories such as overall charity efficiency, governance, fundraising efficiency and reserves. The BC SPCA, which spends 75 per cent of all donations on direct programs and services, received an overall A- rating in the survey.

“This is the sixth year in a row that we have been at the top of this survey, which is a tremendous credit to everyone in the organization, including our staff across the province, our shelter and program volunteers and our volunteer Board of Directors,” said Craig Daniell, chief executive officer of the BC SPCA.

“We could not carry out our work on behalf of abused, injured and homeless animals without the generosity of our donors and we take the stewardship of their contributions very seriously.”
