Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

 April 16, 2015

There’s only two weeks left to make your furry family member a hero to animals just like him.

B.C.’s pet guardians can show the world their animal is a hero by entering to win a spot in the BC SPCA’s 2016 Calendar – the top 13 contestants (12 months and the coveted cover) will be featured in the calendar, which goes to more than 35,000 homes across British Columbia. The annual calendar contest gives animal lovers a chance to make their beloved pet a star, but more importantly, the chance to save the lives of animals in need throughout the province, as funds raised through the contest go toward helping B.C.’s most vulnerable animals.

“All you have to do is enter and invite your friends and family to donate in support of your household hero,” says Charly Jarrett, BC SPCA online fundraising coordinator. “Your animal could save dozens or even hundreds of animals in need - it’s time to unleash their inner hero.”

Every dollar donated to in honour of each contestant’s special star equals one vote. The 13 animals who have the most votes at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on April 30, 2015 will be offered a spot in the 2016 calendar.

The first 30 animals to raise $250 will also win the chance to have their image and name displayed on the Animal Hero Sidekick page, she notes. Participants are encouraged to check the calendar contest rules and image requirements before sending their photos, to ensure important specifications are met.

“How can anyone say ‘no’ to your fur baby’s sweet face?” says Jarrett. “It’s for a great cause and a calendar any animal lover will be proud to display.”
