Smilers never lose, and the BC SPCA is the reason behind daily smiles throughout the province, as cash prizes are announced every day in the BC SPCA Lottery for animals in need. Lottery ticket holders can now view the list of winners online, and the lucky prize winners will also be contacted by phone, every day through the month of June.
“We want to give huge thanks to everyone who purchased a lottery ticket this year,” says Krista Constantineau, BC SPCA manager of fundraising events. “It’s been an extremely popular lottery, with ticket sales exceeding $650,000. But even better – the biggest winners are the animals in our care.”
Funds raised through lottery ticket sales go directly to BC SPCA animal welfare programs and services, and with the weather growing warmer, that support is crucial in helping BC SPCA spread advocacy messaging about not leaving pets in hot cars, an issue that keeps BC SPCA animal protection officers busy as they respond to emergency calls about pets left in hot vehicles all summer.
“With $100,000 in cash to be won, we’re looking forward to making British Columbia’s lucky ticket holders and all the animals in our care much happier,” Constantineau says.
