BC SPCA staff are known to be a generous group of people. They give 100 per cent to their work, they are passionate about animal welfare, and they often volunteer, foster, adopt or support BC SPCA events.
In May, we launched our first ever Family Campaign; a special initiative to thank existing staff who are donors, and invite new ones to help care for homeless, injured and sick animals by joining the PAW Plan. The PAW Plan is the BC SPCA's monthly giving program that assists companion, farm and wild animals year-round.
"We're calling it our Family Campaign, because for many of us, working as closely as we do, we are family," says Kate Salm, senior manager of annual giving for the BC SPCA.
So far in 2010, BC SPCA employees have committed $17,494. This is already exceeding staff gifts made last year!
"I joined the PAW Plan because I see first-hand the positive difference it makes in the lives of so many animals," says Rae Goodridge, manager of the society's Richmond Education & Adoption Centre.
Goodridge designates her contribution to go toward her branch. PAW Plan donors can also designate their gift to a local branch, or select from five other funding priorities: the Highest Priority Needs Fund, the Heroes Fund for Animal Protection, the Monty Fund for Community Education and Outreach, the October Grey Fund for Animal Care and the Biscuit Fund for Medical Care.
"Our employees work hard every day on behalf of animals," say Craig Naherniak, general manager, humane education. "They love animals and their commitment really has no limits; as well as their incredible amount of volunteer time to promote the mission work of the BC SPCA, their support of the Family Campaign is proof of that."

You can join us in supporting animals in need 365 days a year. Sign up for the PAW Plan today!
