Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Making a donation in celebration of your special day is a wonderful opportunity to share your good fortune with homeless, abused and abandoned animals in British Columbia. Give animals a second chance at love through our Wedding Donation Program.

In Lieu of Weddings Favours

We are happy to provide you with the right tools to help communicate to your guests that a donation has been made in lieu of traditional wedding favours.

Table cards: We can provide you with a template for table cards to display on your guests’ tables. For those who are creatively inclined, you can choose to customize your own table cards with a personal message to your guests. If you have a special animal in your life, consider featuring him or her on your table cards.

Letter of acknowledgement: You will receive a personalized letter that acknowledges your gift to the BC SPCA. We recommend you frame and display it next to the guest book or in another prominent location. Download a sample.

We suggest $3-8 per guest when making a donation in lieu of traditional wedding favours.

In Lieu of Wedding Gifts

Requesting that your guests make a tax-receiptable donation in lieu of wedding gifts is a fantastic way to make a difference in the lives of animals in need.

Donation request card: Enclose a donation request card with your wedding invitation.  Ask your guests to state that their donation is in lieu of a wedding gift for you and your fiancé when submitting it to the BC SPCA. Download a sample of the request card.

If you have a wedding website, consider posting your preference for donations to the BC SPCA in lieu of gifts.

Create a BC SPCA wedding page: Create a wedding web page through our “Be a Champion” program and select an “in honour of” page. This is an easy way for your friends and family to make donations and to ensure they will be attributed to your wedding.
