Vancouver's Sara Lynn is not only an animal lover, but she has also been a long time supporter and ambassador of the BC SPCA Biscuit Fund for Medical Care.
"I believe that every animal deserves the right of proper medical care, food, shelter, love, and respect" says the sassy songster.
"When I think of an injured or abused animal without a voice and no place to go it is heart wrenching. With the Biscuit Fund I see a commitment to literally save lives and involve the community in making a positive difference."
Her latest support effort, Biscuit Bonus for Animals was launched in the hopes of raising $300 to help an animal in need, like Lark.
After receiving complaints about the condition of a puppy left tied in a backyard, the RCMP seized Lark from her owner and surrendered the nearly 6-month-old Australian Shepherd mix to the Haida Gwaii Branch of the BC SPCA. When Lark arrived, she was suffering from an infected wound around her entire neck, caused by a rope tied too tightly around her neck.
Thanks to the help of supporters like Sara Lynn, the BC SPCA Biscuit Fund was able to provide funds for the surgery to close the wound, antibiotics for her recovery and a spay procedure in preparation for adoption into a new, loving family.
The Biscuit Bonus for Animals raised $319.00 in proceeds from sales of items from Sara Lynn's online store as well as donations made in memory of Kaiser, Sara Lynn's beloved Golden Retriever who passed away in April.
Thank you, Sara Lynn!
