Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Clayton Hodges

Generosity in Action - June 2011

When Clayton and his family adopted Scout from the BC SPCA Abbotsford Branch, they learned that he had been abused in his former home.  “Scout opened my eyes,“ says Clayton, now 15.  “I was shocked that some people could treat an animal that way.”

Since then, Clayton has dedicated himself to helping animals looking for the second chance that Scout received.  Not only does Clayton spend his free time volunteering at the branch, but he also passionately fundraises for the Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause campaign.  Holding garage sales and even braving the elements while locking himself in Scout’s kennel for eight hours, over the last four years he has raised more than $9,400 and has been named top fundraiser at the Abbotsford branch for the last three.

Clayton hopes to raise even more this year.  Please join Clayton in making a difference to more than 34,000 animals across B.C. by joining the Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause campaign.

In honour of Clayton’s amazing support, branches are encouraged to name homeless animals Clay for the month of June.
