Jo Faloona

Generosity in Action - January, 2012

Growing up, Jo Faloona had two family dogs that she loved dearly.  However, it wasn’t until Jo got her little maltipoo, Keely, that she experienced how strong the bond with an animal could be. Her love for Keely made her realize how vulnerable pets and animals are and inspired her to get involved with the 2011 Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause.

“When I was asked to participate in the SPCA Walk, I immediately agreed and hit up all my friends and family, I did a weekly push on Facebook, and was overwhelmed with support.”  With Jo’s hard work, and the generous support of her friends and family, she was one of our top provincial fundraisers, raising $6,095 for the Vancouver, West Vancouver and Burnaby branches.

Thank you, Jo, for being a hero to animals!  We celebrate her this month and encourage branches to name homeless animals in her honour.

Registration for the 2012 Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause opens on May 1!  Email for more information.
