Kay Walter

Generosity in Action - January 2015

The BC SPCA was deeply saddened this year to lose a true friend of the animals and a passionate supporter of 30 years, Kay Walter.

Kay volunteered weekly at the BC SPCA alongside her Miniature Pinscher, Mindy, supporting the BC SPCA Kid’s Club. Her commitment to animals and to educating the next generation of animal lovers has left a lasting impact. Each of her six grandchildren are Kids Club members, championing animal causes and advocating for a better life for animals in need.

Kay had a particular soft spot for dogs and always treated her pets like part of the family. Her son fondly remembers a family camping trip to Galiano Island where the family road their bikes, their Chihuahua Squirt always enjoying the view from Kay’s front basket.

An amazing cook, even her four legged friends enjoyed Kay's creations, including homemade nutritious dog food from scratch.

We are so grateful for Kay’s incredible commitment and years of work for the animals. Kay will be remembered as an amazing ambassador for animal welfare and her legacy of love will live on in the younger generation that she helped the Society to reach.
