Shelly Culin

Generosity in Action - February 2012

Shelly Culin has always been inspired by love for animals. She’s always adopted strays and as a child had a hankering to adopt every animal she came across… groundhogs, raccoons and birds etc. When she volunteered she wanted to take every animal home with her but, with her two cats Martini and Maybee, and her dog Meeka, the house is full.

Ten years ago Shelly wanted help for some hungry sheep near her cabin but found there were few resources. Her short term solution was to bring a bale of alfalfa each visit, but in the longer term she wanted to support work for stronger laws and cruelty investigations. So ten years ago this month, Shelly became a PAW Plan monthly donor to help the animals who never make it to the shelters. Congratulations on your tenth ‘PAW-versary’ and thank you Shelly!

We celebrate her this month and encourage branches to name homeless animals in her honour.
