Chris Stollery and Alana Amaroso-Stollery

Generosity in Action - November 2012

When Chris Stollery and Alana Amaroso-Stollery were married this summer, they were eager to include their beloved dogs in the festivities. Maxine, the eight-year-old shepherd collie mix, Harley, a one-year-old shepherd husky mix and their late black lab Jocee were all rescue dogs, and Chris and Alana wanted to help other animals in need find their own forever homes.

At the wedding, Chris and Alana asked their friends and family to make a donation to the BC SPCA if they wanted the newlyweds to kiss (raising $300!) and for their wedding favours, the couple thanked guests for their love and support by making another $300 gift to help animals in need.

This November we are thanking Alana and Chris for their creative and generous support by naming them our donors of the month. We wish Alana, Chris, Maxine and Harley our congratulations, and all the happiness in the world!

For the month, branches are encouraged to name homeless animals “Buttons” or “Charlee,” in memory Alana and Chris’ childhood dogs.
