WHAT'S HAPPENING

The BC SPCA is opposed to the keeping and breeding of exotic animals -- whether it is for a private pet, roadside zoo, traveling attraction, or for the entertainment industry -- this is not where these magnificent animals belong. Captive-bred or wild-caught exotic animals can both suffer at our hands through neglect and cruelty, and many pose a public safety threat from diseases and predatory instincts. Read more about why exotic animals need to be protected and their possession prohibited.
