Wildlife-In-Focus Wildlife Photography Contest
The annual wildlife photography contest is held each year between June and September. Funds raised go towards food and medical care of wildlife in need at the BC SPCA's Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC), which cares for almost 2,400 injured and orphaned wild animals a year. This unique contest encourages British Columbians to explore greenspaces, roadsides, beaches and even backyards to find striking images that represent the resiliency of local wildlife living at the interface with humans. Learn more about urban wildlife in your community to get inspired to enter a future contest!
The contest is open to all photographers at least 14 years of age. Participants are encouraged to submit photos into one of two categories: urban wildlife in order to highlight our special relationship with wild animals in our backyards; and amazing wild settings that feature animals in their natural habitats. Winners are featured in a future issue of AnimalSense and receive great prizes.

2013 Wildlife-In-Focus Wildlife Photography Contest
This year's contest will open on July 1st and run through September. So be sure to check back and submit your BC wildlife photos this summer!
2012 Wildlife-In-Focus Wildlife Photography Contest
Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2012 contest! Choosing among the 550 entries was a very difficult task given the high quality and diversity of images submitted. However, we do want to recognize the 2012 contest winners that were selected by a panel of independent judges.
The 2012 W-I-F contest would not have been possible without the tremendous volunteer assistance of Cathy El-Hinn who managed contest entries, and Marcy Potter, who solicited prizes and contest entries.
A huge thank you also goes to our sponsors who donated prizes in 2012:
