Animals in the classroom

Providing students the opportunity to interact with an animal can be a valuable teaching tool, but only if done correctly. Learn more about classroom pets and make an informed decision.

Lesson plans

BC SPCA lesson plans aim to build students' compassion and empathy for animals, people and the environment, while also meeting prescribed learning outcomes, in a variety of subjects, set by the B.C. Ministry of Education. Find out more about our selection of curriculum units for Kindergarten to Grade 7.

School presentations & BC SPCA shelter tours
