The Shuswap Branch of the BC SPCA is caring for a tiny kitten who was callously thrown out in the trash on May 23.


Man convicted of horse cruelty charged with breach of probation

May 25, 2012

Brentwood Bay resident David Whiffin has been charged with breach of probation after failing to comply with a ban on owning animals imposed earlier this year. Whiffin, who appears in court on May 31 to face the charge, was found living on a property with dogs, geese and a miniature horse.

Burnaby SPCA seeks help to fund medical needs of abandoned animals

The Burnaby SPCA has been hit with unexpected medical costs after several dogs were found abandoned near Marine Drive, just east of Boundary Road. A generous anonymous donor has offered to match up to $20,000 in community donations to help care for animals at the Burnaby SPCA shelter.
