THE BRITISH COLUMBIA SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
Our mission: To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Q - Can I donate items to my local BC SPCA branch?

Yes, our local branches appreciate donations of toys, towels, blankets and other items that can be used for the animals. Please contact your local shelter directly to ask if they can receive your donations, as large donations such as kennels, washers and dryers may not be able to be received based on space available.

Some items cannot be accepted by the shelters including used litter boxes (even if they have been sanitized) and open bags of food for health reasons. Comforters and pillows also cannot be accepted because the dogs tear the blankets and the stuffing makes a big mess.

Please note the BC SPCA can obtain discounts and tax rebates when purchasing items, so a monetary donation can go further when purchasing items ourselves.

Items that cannot be used for the animals can also be donated to one of our thrift stores.
