Welcome to the Powell River & District Branch of the BC SPCA.
Each year we help thousands of animals find new homes.
Our new website will help our supporters, adopters and future adopters to learn more about the animals that we are currently sheltering, offer volunteer opportunities, highlight fundraising events and so much more!
Thanks to the support of 75,000 Canadians, the House of Commons has unanimously passed a motion to support the development of a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare (UDAW).
The BC SPCA reminds members of the public that the permitting phase of the provincial government's new regulations governing the keeping of exotic wild animals is now in effect.
Powell River resident Bud Wilcocks pled guilty on Oct. 29 to charges of animal cruelty. The charges were laid following a BC SPCA investigation on Feb. 3 in which the SPCA seized six lame, lice-infested and emaciated goats and three neglected ponies.
